Founded in the U.K. in 1973, Duffy & Company has a long-established history and continues to operate in Sussex today. John Duffy MRICS, a Chartered Surveyor, first came to Antigua through his passion for sailing, successfully competing in Antigua Sailing Week, before relocating to the island with his wife Lindsay in 2005.
In 2021, almost 48 years after founding the company in the U.K., John established Duffy & Company in Antigua. Sadly, John passed away in late 2023 after a short battle with cancer. Following his passing, Colin Baldwin and Helen Pearce acquired the company, bringing together over 45 years of combined experience in property development and property management. With decades of experience owning and managing both commercial and residential property in the U.K., they are proud to continue building on the strong legacy John created.
Operating from Jolly Harbour, Duffy & Company serves clients across Antigua and, where appropriate, other Caribbean islands. Our services include residential and commercial sales, land and building plots, long-term rentals, property management, and architectural and design services. With over 40 years of experience in the property industry across both the U.K. and Antigua, we place strong emphasis on efficiency, professionalism, and service that goes beyond the traditional laid-back Caribbean approach.
We welcome new clients and buyers from around the world. While the prime selling season in Antigua runs from December to May, opportunities are available year-round, often at more competitive prices during the summer months.

His wider background across law, finance, manufacturing, and retail gives him a strong commercial perspective, allowing him to anticipate client needs and deliver well-judged, tailored solutions. Known for his creative, solutions-focused approach, Colin helps clients uncover opportunities, refine their vision, and achieve outcomes others might overlook.
Helen Pearce
Director
With a background in banking and over 20 years’ experience in property management, Helen brings a wealth of expertise to her role at Duffy & Company. Her extensive experience in the banking sector has given her a strong understanding of mortgage approvals, processing, and small business finance, enabling her to provide comprehensive and confident support to clients navigating the property market. This combination of financial insight and property knowledge allows Helen to guide clients through each stage of their journey with clarity and reassurance.
As Director, Helen is focused on delivering exceptional client service while strengthening the company’s presence within the real estate market. Her approach centres on fostering sustainable growth and ensuring that every interaction adds value for clients and stakeholders alike. Passionate about maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, Helen is committed to supporting clients with care, transparency, and a consistent focus on long-term outcomes.
Mandy Matthews
Sales Executive
Originally from South Africa and now based in Antigua, Mandy brings a warm, relationship-driven approach to her role at Duffy & Company. With extensive experience in sales, customer service, and management, she supports clients from around the world with clear guidance, local insight, and a genuine passion for helping them find the right property and lifestyle in Antigua. Having moved to the island with her family in 2020, Mandy quickly developed a deep appreciation for island life, which she shares openly with clients exploring their own move or investment.
Known for her strong communication skills and personable nature, Mandy takes the time to understand each client’s goals, ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout the entire process.
